In this series of articles, we’ll take a look at these players as well as those who, despite not having an official star around the pitch, undoubtedly have one inscribed in the hearts of their fans like Carlitos Tevez, Cristiano Ronaldo, and others.

 

We’ll go through this list in alphabetical order, starting with Pietro Anastasi. On January 17, 2020, Anastasi, or Petruzzu as he was known at the time he was playing, passed away. After being acquired by Varese where he had scored 17 goals in 66 games, he played with Juventus from 1968 to 1976. He appeared in over 200 games for Juventus, scoring 78 goals. After Juve, he went on to play for Inter, Ascoli, and Lugano, where he ended his career after 14 appearances. Anastasi also made 25 appearances for the national team, scoring eight goals.

 

Pietro Anastasi is regarded as one of the best attackers in Italian history. He was regarded as  a physical hardworking player as well as an agile and successful athlete. With Juventus, Anastasi has won the Serie A three times. In 1978, he also won the Coppa Italia with Inter.  His major achievment with the Italian national team was the win at the European Championships in 1968.
